Port team go down fighting The Port team travelled to Cochrane Castle where they gave everything they had. Unfortunately it just wasn't enough. Team capt D Standaloft was first to come home losing 3&1, J Paterson was next winning 1up Then J Dunn lost 3&1 by this time the last match result had reached the players at the 18th IL yes IL Macleod had won 2up it was now down to G Dunn, Graham was at the edge of the green in two his opponent some way back had now chipped on for 3 Graham chips to 3 feet his opponent misses and the pressure is on Graham to sink this 3 footer and the Port are through but it just stayed out, it was now up to IL to go to the first and play sudden death his opponent put it to 10feet IL misjudged the wind and then stuck on leaving himself with a 50 footer he putts to two feet but the Castle player lagged it to 6 inches and the Port went out, hard luck boys a gallant effort. |
