Donald retains the Grouse

Round 1 and there was some big names at the front of the leader board, R Turnbull, R Jardine and D Standaloft all on nt 64 and a few others right on there tail and the main talking point at the half-way stage being the pin position at the sixth and the unluckiest player of the day M Young who posted a NT 62 of of 23hcp. to find out the max hcp is 18.
round 2 who could hold on and who couldn't well J Paterson came in with a nt 64 then Donald with another nt 64 and A Greer Jnr with a nt 64. Joint leader in the morning R Turnbull couldn't better his score so it was now down to G Dunn or R Jardine. Graham needed a good score of 63 but didn't get there. R Jardine the last man on the course mmeant Donald had to wait until then for a result which 'Stav' didn't get.

Ceud Mile Failte
A hundred thousand welcomes

Port Bannatyne Golf Club is located on the beautiful and historic Isle of Bute, in Scotland. It is an ancient, distinctive, and hospitable golf club where green fees are affordable and visiting golfers are made most welcome.

Our gaelic greeting ('Ceud Mile Failte') is symbolic of scenery and atmosphere. Although the island lies in the Clyde Estuary in the south west of Scotland—and is therefore easy to reach—the Higland Boundary Fault runs neatly through the middle of Bute just a few miles south of our course. So the vistas and landscapes that surround you while playing are truly Highland in their characteristics. If you only play here once, we promise you will carry the memories of your day on our course in your heart for many, many years.
