Spal So Easy! Donald Standaloft ruled supreme over the Port course at the week-end winning the RNLI Medal and heading the qualifying list for the Hector Linden knockout stages. His round of net 66 was good enough on Saturday for the RNLI medal victor but his round on Sunday was sublime. A gross 64, including eight threes and a two, giving him a net 61 to head the 8 qualifiers. Jamie Jardine carried on his good form with a net 62 to clinch second place. The round for the knockout stages is: D. Standaloft V H. Slaven: J. Jardine V R. Pedder: J. Paterson V J. Black and G. Dunn V J. Bicker – dates and draw on the locker room notice board. CSS over the week-end = Saturday = 66:Sunday = 65 Apologies for the omission of the CSS in the Spring Handicap report last week. It was 66. This Sunday is the May Medal. Members are reminded that the closing date for knockout competitions is the 11th May. |
Ceud Mile Failte
A hundred thousand welcomesPort Bannatyne Golf Club is located on the beautiful and historic Isle of Bute, in Scotland. It is an ancient, distinctive, and hospitable golf club where green fees are affordable and visiting golfers are made most welcome. Our gaelic greeting ('Ceud Mile Failte') is symbolic of scenery and atmosphere. Although the island lies in the Clyde Estuary in the south west of Scotland—and is therefore easy to reach—the Higland Boundary Fault runs neatly through the middle of Bute just a few miles south of our course. So the vistas and landscapes that surround you while playing are truly Highland in their characteristics. If you only play here once, we promise you will carry the memories of your day on our course in your heart for many, many years. |
