Double Up for Black & Dunn by Webmaster @ 09:33 GMT

Both John Black and Graham Dunn had a double celebration on Sunday. With the Medal Finals being incorporated within the Captain's Day then 4 titles were up for grabs but John and Graham grabbed the four between them.
For John it was being the winner of the stableford competition run by Captain Graham Fisher and what a competion it was. Superb sponsorship and prizelist but the competition was close too. With John having 41 points he was the winner by 2 from 3 players and one of them the Captain himself. However Graham was his gracious self and stood down from the prizelist making the runner up on countback Donnie McDermid. In third place was Bobby Pedder. The longest drive came from Donnie McDermid with Ian McFarlane and Donald Standaloft winning the nearest the pin prizes.
A nice touch from Graham was to run a Junior Medal as part of his Captain's Day and with this included the Prizegiving was a busy affair for his wife Suzie. The winner of this was Junior Champion Joe Livingston but another five boys appeared on the prizelist. their full list was:
Winner - J. Livingston: 2nd - S. MacPhail: 3rd A. Shaw: 4th - M. Dunn: 5th - S. Dunn and 6th - P. Rodger.
Back to John's double! With his net 63 in the Medal finals he won the second class title making it a really good day.
Graham Dunn's double came in the form of his gross 71 that saw him take the Scratch Trophy and his net 66 which gave him the First Class trophy, which, along with his 2 boys in the Junior prizelist, made it a good day for the Dunn family.

Ceud Mile Failte
A hundred thousand welcomes

Port Bannatyne Golf Club is located on the beautiful and historic Isle of Bute, in Scotland. It is an ancient, distinctive, and hospitable golf club where green fees are affordable and visiting golfers are made most welcome.

Our gaelic greeting ('Ceud Mile Failte') is symbolic of scenery and atmosphere. Although the island lies in the Clyde Estuary in the south west of Scotland—and is therefore easy to reach—the Higland Boundary Fault runs neatly through the middle of Bute just a few miles south of our course. So the vistas and landscapes that surround you while playing are truly Highland in their characteristics. If you only play here once, we promise you will carry the memories of your day on our course in your heart for many, many years.
