A musical day in a magical setting

Port Bannatyne Golf Club have organised a day to remember with a very varied programme of artists performing from 2pm through to 10pm on Sat 26th June on the golf course.

There will be seven bands performing on the day, along with some solo artists.
The bands vary from the winners of the Academy "Battle of the Bands" right through to a very interesting and well known band from Glasgow.

THE HUGH REED EXPLOSION - Previously known as Hugh Reed and the velvet underpants. In their career the ‘Pants’ toured with “Half Man Half Biscuit” , the “Fall” “Charlie Chuck” , ”John Otway” and did supports for “Simple Minds”, “Glen Matlock” amongst many others. The “Supernaturals” supported them as did an up and coming band called “Glass Onion”, who went to London to seek their fortune - changing their name to “Travis”

RISE - A well known local talent. The band has been described in America as 'ecletic, original, inventive, very musical and highly evocative'.

SAX APPEAL - This band is becoming well known to many after having played a few gigs around the Island. Very entertaining and talented.
'A fantastic and entertaining cover band from 60's right through to the best of the modern hits'.

ACOUSTICRAT - Due to other circumstances, Acousticrat are not able to play on the day. They have been replaced by another excellant band in Scott Nicol Band.

SCOTT NICOL - Scott Nicol has been making passionate music for years, Lead vocalist with ayrshire band "Maybe im dreaming", and more recent rock band "Ten Miles Tall". he was the main songwriter in these bands.They both produced albums and along with his own solo projects ,proved to be a prolific writer. He has played such diverse places as Edinburgh festival to tv appearances in America and many many more places in between.

Tickets priced £10.00 for 14 years and over, concession tickets for accompanied children under 14 can be purchased from various outlet on the Island.

There will be no parking at the clubhouse on the day of the event, cars should be parked in Port Bannatyne village, where a shuttle bus will be provided from 1.30pm until 7.00pm to take you to the event or you can follow the signs and walk up.

NO GLASS OR CANS ARE ALLOWED IN THE VENUE (RISK ASSESSMENT)

Taxi's will be allowed to drop off and pick up at the clubhouse.

Because this is an outdoor event on a golf course, suitable footwear should be worn.

Proof of age will be required on entry to purchase alcohol.

Food and drink can be purchased troughout the day.

There will also be stalls and games for children.

Travelling from Rothesay to Port Bannatyne can be done by a frequent bus service (every 30 minutes for most of the day). Get full timetables from the West Coast Motors website.



There will be no car parking available at the Golf Club on the day of the Tee in the Port event. If you arrive by car you should park in the village and can catch the shuttle bus which will be laid on to take you from the village to the Golf Club - and back again, of course!
